Greatest of the Week: GUSTAVO SANTAOLALLA

This week we celebrate another composer with simple methods of scoring films. By using only few instruments and slow dynamics, Gustavo Santaolalla (born 1951, Argentina) somehow manages to create rich pattern of emotions. Voters of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognized it, giving him two Oscars in two consecutive years, for Brokeback Mountain (2005) and Babel (2006).
