The mission of the International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF) is the promotion and preservation of film music as an irreplaceable element of film which is a great art itself, as well as the film sound. Also, the mission is to expand awareness among the audience and filmmakers on the importance of original music and sound in film. The festival’s programme includes concerts of film music, panels and seminars, workshops, film market and parties.

The International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF), one of the four largest and most important film music festivals in the world, as well as the only one dedicated to film sound – arts so unfairly neglected practically since the existence of cinema – has many reasons to celebrate this year.

Born from the small family circle of today’s artistic director, Ozren K. Glaser, and his father, festival producer Ċ½eljko Glaser, later strengthened by the arrival of executive director Marijana Knezoci, the ISFMF grew year by year, and this year, in 2022, it will celebrate ten years of its existence.

The decade of the ISFMF was marked by some of the biggest and most awarded names of the film and music showbusiness who contributed to the festival in the form of masterclasses, concerts, joining the Artistic Board and – friendships that last to this day. And truly, no event has ever brought more Oscar winners to Croatia than the ISFMF has achieved over the past ten years.

The jubilee anniversary is thus celebrated twice this year! The first time was at a unique and spectacular event in Pula, hometown of ISFMF, in the 2,000-year-old Arena, the largest completely preserved amphitheater from the Roman Empire. The Pula Arena thus served as a unique stage for Ridley Scott’s film masterpiece Gladiator and the awarding of the Crystal Pine Lifetime Achievement Award to one of the greatest sound designers of all time, Scott Millan, winner of four Oscars, one of which he received for Gladiator.

The second part of the festival’s anniversary is celebrated from October 7 to 9, from Friday to Sunday, in the place where it all began – Samobor. The picturesque town, the most beautiful pearl of continental Croatia, will thus host the festival and its top program and guests.
